Mentoring

I am a tutor at Write On School for Young Writers in Christchurch and teach creative writing on Saturday mornings, based at Hagley College. I am also available for in school programmes and holiday courses throughout New Zealand.  I also mentor students online, which enables me to help keen young writers from around the world. If you would like to find out more, please contact The School for Young Writers via their website: theshoolforyoungwriters.org.

Many of my students have gone on to win, or be highly placed in competitions such as National Flash Fiction Day, and Speak for the Planet. Many have also had their work published in journals such as Write On, Re-Draft, Toitoi and Flash Frontier.

“Thank you for your writing classes, I can see a big improvement his writing skills and most importantly creativity and love of writing.” – Parent, Saturday morning student.

If you are an adult and are interested in being mentored, or would like some advice on your writing, please contact me directly. I work with adults on short stories and novels, as well as on non-fiction projects, and can provide mentoring and editing. My adult students have gone on to have their work published both in print and online. I am also available to work with businesses to improve report-writing skills and communications.
